Install on your device

  • Windows 10/11 and macOS: unzip the download, double-click a font file and choose Install (Install Font on macOS). See Microsoft’s font installation guide.
  • iPhone and iPad: Apple supports installing fonts through App Store font apps, managed in Settings > General > Fonts. Follow Apple’s iPhone or iPad guide. We do not provide configuration profiles.
  • Android: there is no universal system-wide font installation method. Apps that let you pick a font are the practical route.
  • Chromebook and Google Docs: Chromebooks cannot install font files system-wide in the usual way. Google Docs offers Lexend and Atkinson Hyperlegible through More fonts, but not OpenDyslexic. See our Google Docs guide.
  • Kindle: Kindle e-readers, Kindle apps and Kindle for Web include OpenDyslexic as a font option, according to Amazon’s help.

Frequently asked questions

Are these fonts really free?

Yes. The SIL Open Font License 1.1 allows personal and commercial use and redistribution under its conditions. You cannot sell the font by itself. Keep the copyright notices and licence with redistributed font files; modified fonts must respect any Reserved Font Names. Documents you create do not have to use the font licence.

Which font should I pick?

Choose by preference. Compare the same text with each font and adjust size and spacing. No font is guaranteed to suit everyone. Read What is a dyslexia font?.

Can I download Dyslexie here?

No. It is commercial and we do not redistribute it. Visit the official Dyslexie homepage for licensing.
